We had the privilege of transforming a beloved family home—originally built 60 years ago by the client’s grandmother—for the next generation. The result is a warm, inviting space layered with retro charm and modern cohesion featuring two-tone oak cabinetry that bridges the existing darker wood trim with new warm honey floors, large yet airy island cabinetry on raised legs, and richly veined, multicolored quartzite countertops that serve as a bold visual anchor. The glazed amber brick‑tile hood functions as the room’s focal point, balanced by clean, creamy quartzite backsplash elsewhere. Antique‑brass accents in hardware and fixtures echo the home’s original finish, keeping the design nostalgic yet refreshed. The final space feels authentic, personalized, and rooted in family history—cozy, stylish, and unforgettable.
